Kalpana Chawla was born at a small town Karnal in Haryana, INDIA. In 1976, His father's name was BNARSI LAAL CHAWLA and mother's name SUNJYOTI. She Graduated from Tagore school Karnal.
In 1988, she got her ph.D degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Colorado and started working at NASA. She made her first flight in space for 15 days. She made her flight in Columbia shuttle in January , 2003. In February, 2003, the Columbia shuttle broke apart while landing in Florida. In this mishap KALPANA CHAWLA met her sad death.
